❌ Stop #13..Sandusky, Ohio

If you are reading this we are on our way to our next stop..woop.. We just left the KOA Holiday in Sandusky and let me telly you, such a waste of time. This is another KOA sucker stop. The website looks so great, on the bay blah blah.. I didn’t see a bay from our spot. The description for our deluxe premium bay spot goes on and on about the breeze and the views. Well, they set up the seating area to the right of the RV so the RV blocks the view. Ok. The view was a bunch of reeds. I was already convinced I wasn’t going to come out at all, but Paul convinced me to go on a walk. We strolled the dogs over to one of their dog parks, which wasn’t actually bad. We then went up on this path where I was telling Paul it was too dark snakes etc. Some sort of black animal scurried across our path as Paul fell in line behind me telling me he was protecting me..Um Ok. All in all, Sandusky is really not a place I need to go back to. It does have a Nuclear Power Plant. Should that be capitalized? I think so. Lanna also got her face stuck in a leaf while sniffing around so that was pretty exciting too. 2 stars. This place is crowded, so many golf carts, unattended kids, dogs off leash, it was a mess. Good thing it was just a stop off. On the way to this stop though, we stopped at a Cracker Barrel, I bought some more Hello Kitty blind boxes and I got all of the ones I needed to finish my carousel. I even got the 1 in 48 “chaser” that goes in the middle. For me, it was 1 in 18. I am not proud, of this but also I kind of am.

As we were driving out today we ended up in Cleveland. I love cities that still look like the 80’s. As we were navigating the highways, I remembered that A Christmas Story house etc was located here. I quickly googled it and we were only a couple miles from it. Crazy. So we went over there, Paul waited in the RV, and I was able to go down and see the house. It is located in a normal neighborhood of older Victorian homes, and then the Christmas house is there. The people who own the Christmas house also bought the neighbor house which in the movie is the Bumpas house. Across the street is a gift shop, which I went in and grabbed a few things, and also a museum. I guess they do rentals out of both of the houses where you can spend the night. Anyway, seeing that house down the street as I was walking up to it was pretty nostalgic.

🎥 The movie we ended up watching that has Sandusky ties but wasn’t filmed here was Tommy Boy. I have not watched this movie, in full, since I was 19 years old. I thought it was hilarious. I struggled a bit with it now. David Spade is terrible, Chris Farley carried a lot of weight (no pun intended) to make his movies successful. He does all the heavy lifting comedy wise while everyone else is just non existent. Anyway, they sold some break pads, saved the company or whatever, YEH!

👗 Lottie and Lanna Wore What? I really love this cute little daisy white and yellow sweatshirt on Lottie. It almost looks like she has little nuggets for arms. Lanna is wearing a light weight strawberry shirt. Her stomach was pretty upset yesterday, so she is sleeping it off. Both of these I got from Furb when Lottie was a baby. The sizes were hit or miss at first, but I realized she is a XXX small not a XX small. Doesn’t really matter because Lanna will wear them too.

✌🏻Until next time! Vanessa

I have worked at BHV for over 20 years as the manager, and then during Covid, took the steps to buy it. I have 8 dogs and I love my dogs on a level that I share with our clients. I try to include them in everything I do. ❤️
