πŸŒ… Stop #12 Cedar (Traverse City) Michigan

If you are reading this we are already on our way to our next stop. We have started our decent back into Austin and are headed back to the East Coast since Paul did not experience some of those stops with me. My brother has flown the RV and flew back to Houston via the Traverse City airport. We spent two days at the Leelanau Pines Campground. I chose this spot because the website looked like we might be able to actually have a spot on a lake. This time it actually ended up being true! We had an end spot, like I like it, which was right on the lake. This stop did not have a dog park, but there was a lot of green space by the lake which the dogs could spread there tootsies. They also had a lot of poop stations which was great so you didn’t need to worry about the surprise poops that may occur.

Since this was a 2 day stop, a good thing to keep in mind is always making sure you can order groceries etc? Do Instacart or DoorDash reach this location? These can be essential for any dog food supplies, food supplies, or any incidentals you may have missed along the way. For me on this stop, I ordered a bunch of hot dogs, hamburger meat, cheese etc. My husband, Paul, put together his traveling Blackstone which we wanted to take for a whirl. Also, my friends Annette and Shawn who live in Traverse City were going to come out and hang out with us for a little fire pit, burger, wine, and music hang. I had not seen them since my last visit when I came up to Michigan for a bunny. That is another story! We had so much fun catching up. Shawn is one of my oldest friends from my Cedar Wood preschool days. We have gone to all the same schools and were even roommates in Austin for a bit. Lots of history, and we always just fall back into the same groove. His wife is also amazing. You don’t really get that often, and Shawn’s picker has been off a few times, but she is incredible. WOOPS ONE SECOND, CRACKER BARREL!!! Ok I am back. So crazy every single Cracker Barrel is the same on the inside. More Hello Kitty blind boxes. I have a real problem. I also got a Xmas stocking for one of the girls at work who will be sharing her first Xmas with her dog. Every dog needs a stocking. Anyway. Great time with friends, always a must. Sometimes you need to see your old friends to realize who you are again. A lot of times we lose our value in people who use us up, and being around good people who expect nothing from you (which is something I don’t get very often) that can make all the difference. I will say, I am not able to come up with a good picture face, so almost always my eyes are closed.

Before my friends arrived, I enjoyed a great day sleeping a bit and watching old Game of Thrones. Man.. Tik Tok can show you a scene from GOT and really get you going again on wanting to watch it. Then you watch it and remember all of the reasons you don’t watch it again. Trauma. The dogs seemed super exhausted too, so they did not move from position the entire day. I did want to mention these bad I have discovered. They are called Pudding Beds. I have purchased all kinds of beds, but these beds are winners with my dogs. I got one for one of the people I work with and she confirmed her cat loved it too. It has a bit of a center that folds and they love love love to sleep in these. So I got two and covers for them both.

πŸŽ₯ For this stop we chose a movie called Quicksand. I am here to say, we did not make it through this movie. It was a very local vibe with an indie feel, but yeah.

πŸ‘—What did Lottie Wear? Oh and Lanna…..I put Lottie in a cute little green and purple jumper. Not sure where I got this one, but it is super cute. It has a little cinch belt which give it a different look than the other onesies. Lanna is wearing a very soft argyle red sweater. It was a bit cold in Michigan at night, so I wanted her to be toasty.

✌🏻Until next time! Vanessa

I have worked at BHV for over 20 years as the manager, and then during Covid, took the steps to buy it. I have 8 dogs and I love my dogs on a level that I share with our clients. I try to include them in everything I do. ❀️
