🦀 Stop #1, Lafayette, LA
If you are reading this, we are probably on our way to the next stop which is in Pensacola. FLA. This RV spot is called Playa del Rio RV Resort.
Lafayette was interesting enough. We stayed at a KOA and when I arrived, they told me we had a premium spot, but it was far from the bathrooms. Am I absolutely sure I still want my same spot? I am not sure if I looked constipated or what, but I think I could handle the walk to the bathrooms if I needed to go. I haven’t been told, more like warned about where the bathrooms are since that time at the Melting Pot. I feel like they have to tell everyone where the bathroom is there though. All that cheese. I am sure there has to be some grumbling tummies. I declined and headed out to see what is so premium about this spot.
One of the things that is always interesting is that I booked this in June. I have no idea what to expect when we get to our sites. This one has a “lake” view, which is nice. There were ducks. We also have a little sitting area with fire pit, grill, and porch swing situation. We ventured over there to take in the lake (mosquitos) and then the kids arrived. An adult riding a bike with a kid balancing, kids playing in the fire pit at our spot. I was whatever at that point. I am tired. They have their own premium spot, go ride your bike in the grass over there. Honestly when people don’t pay attention to their young kids, by a lake, running around a lady with an unknown dog.. well it feels like babysitting. I love kids ok, but I do feel a sense of responsibility for them when parents are not present. I did introduce Mooshu to the ducks, saw a sunset, and then ate some Little Caesars. Seriously. Have you guys had those like, cupcake pizza things? So good. Plus somehow we got Destiny’s pizza of pepperoni and jalapeños. I guess it was Destiny. I had to say it.
The positives here are this.. great for dogs. The area around us was sufficient for us to walk around and not run into any other dogs. There are dog park areas all around the property, but the moment we drove in I saw a big Poodle poop as the owner watched.. and then they walked away from the poop. Also my brother muttered something about the dog’s balls being huge. That usually isn’t a good sign at the dog park area (the poop not the balls), so I stuck to the grass areas around us. The vision in my head was enough to keep me away. We got lucky though as one of the spots next to us was empty. So my dogs just pooped all over that one. Just kidding. We are not animals. We show some level of decorum when at these RV parks. How long that will last is debatable.
🍿 Tonight’s locally filmed movie…and this was a tough one, was “The Drowning Pool” with Paul Newman. It was apparently shot all around this area. I had some other options like… “The Apostle” and “Mississippi Burning” but those movies were only one watcher movies when they came out. So those were a hard pass for me. A surprising fact was that a number of Lifetime Christmas movies have been filmed here. Who knew?
Finally.. The moment you have been waiting for….👗 Lottie Wore What? After all day in her pjs, she opted for a more summerish look since it is still super hot and muggy outside. This is a hot little floral number with cute ruffles. What I also wanted to share is this awesome harness and gummy blinky light. The light blinks in 3 settings and is rechargeable. Lottie is 5 pounds, and she is hard to see at night, so luckily this light can be seen from space. I also really like this harness. It is mainly velcro that attaches under her belly and her arms. It is easy to get on, she doesn’t mind wearing it, and easy to get off. I will attach the link for Sunny Pawshop. They are currently out of the bears because I bought them all (I told you guys I had a problem). I did hunt down the company that makes them and it is called Bite Me. I think it is a Korean store. So you can order from over there, but it will take forever. The harness is also from Sunny Pawshop. They have very cute outfits, toys, carriers etc focused mainly on small dogs. If you have a small dog, there are endless accessories for them. It is a whole new world for me. I just looked at their site and they have new stuff. My sabbatical from buying her new clothes may need to wait.
