Qualifications for BHV

  • Is your dog spayed/neutered if over the age of 8 months?
  • Is your dog current on DHLPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines?
  • Does your dog have a collar with an ID tag? Having a collar is for safety. If you don’t bring one, we will provide a collar you can take with you for $20.
  • Does your dog love playing with other dogs without having any aggressive issues? All dogs must be non reactive and able to play with other dogs. This is for the safety of the staff and the other dogs. Daycare and Boarding can be new environments so you want to make sure playing with other dogs is something your dog finds enjoyable and not stressful. We will be honest with you regarding your pup during our care. If issues start to manifest, even after being a client with us for years, we will let you know about these changes. We believe in being open and honest through the amazing behaviors and the not so amazing behaviors. Dogs are ever evolving and have complicated emotions. We don’t want them in environment that they are not happy with. So we feel like open communication is the best path.

What to Expect for Your Dog’s First Day

*We like to really focus on our new clients and make them feel comfortable. We feel this is better done on days we are slower. We require your dog to arrive by 9 am so we can get them placed with a proper playgroup and to leave them in our care until at least 4 pm. This allows for both the AM and PM team to meet your dog and to gather enough information on their comfort level. This evaluation day is necessary to introduce your dog to us and our environment. Sometimes more than one day of daycare is needed to get your pup fully comfortable to this new environment. We will email you in the afternoon of your trial day with an update and pic of your dog at play. Upon pick up we will chat with you and answer any questions you may have etc. As always when your dog is in our care, you can check them out on our Facebook where we post daily pics. Please ask any questions you may have! We want both you and your dog to be comfortable.*

  • Covid Update: We love all dogs, but if your dog has issues with other dogs, new people, or new environments…this may not be the right fit. We do our best to work with dogs with anxiety, but at the end of the day, we want the best for your pup and you. We will let you know if we feel like this environment is a safe one to deal with any anxiety issues your dog may have. Please make your reservations ahead of time as we fill up quickly. Lately daycare books weeks out. Also, please be patient with us. Any clients who treat us in an inappropriate fashion will not be allowed back.
  • What Makes us Different? We don’t pack dogs into BHV. We keep our groups small and organized. We do not do open play where 20 plus dogs are running around at a time. Our groups are organized by size and temperament and supervised by their own person. Having a lower population for our playgroups increases the safety for both of our employees, and our pup pals. We want all dogs to have fun and feel safe in their groups. That is our number one goal. We want your dog to be comfortable, feel safe, and therefore you also can feel comfortable with us. Having a lower population per group allows us to be more hands on, and to give that extra care that is needed when taking care of dogs.
  • Also, We do not Nickel and Dime You: At BHV, we don’t charge extra for cuddles, medicine, updates, or pictures. We are here for you and your dog. So, check in with us! Look at the pics we post daily! Oh, and we love giving cuddles and we will do it for free.
  • For your dog’s comfort, we NEVER use crates. Custom large suites are available for rest times (even for daycare).
