🏝️ Stop #4..Sunnyside, South Carolina

Well if you are reading this, we have already left and are headed to our next stop. Let me tell you about this stop though. It was called Lakewood Camping Resort. Let me tell you. I have never seen anything like this. The drive was soooo super long. I think 6 or 7 hours, so we didn’t arrive until after dark. This place is HUGE. The sign looks like one of those mega church signs. I am not even sure how they get so much business they can support this infrastructure and staff. Just about a mile down there is another huge RV place with the exact same vibe. We were on an end with direct access to the beach, water slides, playground, restrooms, and arcade.. ice cream. It was crazy. It felt very off to me. I am not sure why. Almost like a cult. SO many American flags lit up on trailers. People in golf carts with weird duck pool inflatables strapped to the roofs. I don’t know. It was strange. Myrtle Beach is close by and it has more mini golf places than any other place I have been to. I don’t think Lakewood is a good fit for dogs. I don’t know if there is a dog park, but I just felt on parade when Mooshu took a dump this morning with a train of golf carts zooming around us. Also a lot of non spacial awareness with these people and their dogs. Doing that thing where they make them sit over and over and you just want to take your dog inside. Anyway, I dropped my phone in water last night and it hasn’t recovered. So I had to go and hunt down another one. So we don’t have a lot of great pics

🎥 The movie on tap for this let was Shag The Movie. I remember this movie being kind of big when it came out. Unfortunately I could not find it on any streaming platforms. But I will find it and I will watch it.

👗Lottie Wore What? Lottie got her little surfer poncho from an online store called FURB. Weird name, but they have some cute stuff. She also got her little beaded heart necklace from here. They have pretty conservative sweaters and shirts if your pup likes that sort of thing. Lottie is pretty gaudy. This is probably her tamest look, but she wanted to fit in with the surfers.

Next stop…Emerald Isle, North Carolina! ✌🏻Vanessa

I have worked at BHV for over 20 years as the manager, and then during Covid, took the steps to buy it. I have 8 dogs and I love my dogs on a level that I share with our clients. I try to include them in everything I do. ❤️
